Drinking chamomile tea can calm you down and get you
ready for bed, but there are some other natural ways to help you get some
zzz’s.
Here’s a question we received from a viewer:
Dear Dr. Manny,
I’ve heard that there are plants that will actually help you sleep better— is this true?
Thanks,
Jane

It’s
true, making a few adjustments to your bedroom can make all the difference in
your sleep quality.
First, be sure to create a cool, dark sleeping environment. Get
into the habit of going to bed around the same time each night and avoid using
your smartphone and computer an hour before bed.
However, there are some plants that you can add to your bedroom.
“There are herbal teas, chamomile, of course; my favorite being
passion flower. It’ll knock you out and keep you out—gives you a great night’s
sleep. Kava works as well. But there is also a plant that you can put into your
bedroom, snake plant. It’s a common ornamental… and it significantly increases
the oxygen density in our bedroom and gives you a better night’s sleep,” said
Chris Kilham, Fox News' Medicine Hunter.
